Victrola Music Edition 2 review: Visually brilliant, intolerably harsh
It’s Pretty, But It Ain’t Pretty
If you’re like me, you want the most beautiful, rich sound imaginable and you want it now. That’s why I jumped at the chance to check out Victrola Music Edition 2. Well, the experience was both a blessing and a curse – a mix of absolute pleasure, and agonizing pain.

The Good Stuff
The design, in a word, is beautiful. The multicoloured paneling is reminiscent of a 60s jukebox, complete with moody green and blue lighting. As for the sound quality, it’s as perfect as could be. It’s clear, crisp, and absolutely enveloping. It’s like you’re standing in a recording studio yourself.
The Not So Good Stuff
Let’s just say this loud and clear: the volume on this machine is BRUTAL. Even at the faintest level, you can still hear it from outside the room. There’s no way to get around this – it’s just too powerful, and it’s really quite unbearable.
Simply put, if you’re looking for a music system that can fill your entire house, this is it. However, if you’re looking for a subtler sound, you might want a different machine.
My Final Takeaways
- Design: Visually brilliant
- Sound quality: Exceptionally rich
- Volume: Intolerably harsh
At the end of the day, I’d recommend Victrola Music Edition 2 if you value style and don’t care about being able to maintain a moderately quiet atmosphere. Otherwise, you may want something with a bit more control. But hey, if you can survive the volume, the sound quality is sure to rock your socks off.
