Do you ever have those days first thing in the morning that really just set the tone for the rest of the day? We sure did this morning. It was just reported that the FAA has grounded all US flights due to mistakenly deleted files. What?! Yep. You heard us right.

Things Took A Turn For The Worse

Apparently, one of the FAA’s employees was doing some Spring Cleaning and next thing you know, poof, around 50 flight authorization files were deleted! Can you believe it? It’s not like they have to worry about finding the right name when they save a file. Or maybe they do?!

Still In The Air

Will we ever forgive the employee for taking away our chance to jet set around? Let’s just say that millions of people are stuck waiting for flights and the airlines are not very pleased (to say the least).

A Few Tips To Avoid The Same Fortune

For the sake of humans all around, we’ve come up with a few tips, just in case you ever find yourself wanting to do a little Spring Cleaning too:

• Be sure you know what each file is. Deleting the wrong files may cause you bigger headaches than you thought.
• BACK UP YOUR FILES! It doesn’t hurt to have an extra copy of your important documents and files.
• Double-check before you hit delete. Trusting technology isn’t always the best option in these kinds of scenarios.

Let’s just hope this little mistake doesn’t cause too many delays or cost too much money. All we can do is wait and watch to see what happens next.
