Pokémon Yellow: A Tragedy of Epic Proportions

We know Pokémon has always been close to people’s hearts and this heartbreaking article is the story of a man from California who lost something precious to him. Namely, his copy of Pokémon Yellow.

The Story of the Lost Game

Stephen M. was nothing short of devastated to discover that his beloved copy of Pokémon Yellow, an extremely valuable item for any Pokéfan, had been destroyed by U.S. Customs at one of their checkpoints. The source of his despair? A routine scan that went horribly awry.

As Stephen sadly recounted, U.S. Customs seemed completely unbothered by the blunder and was immediately unapologetic. His letter of complaint was met with no response, leaving him feeling oh-so-deflated.

What Exactly Happened?

The original copy of the game was destroyed by a scanner used by the Customs staff. Even though they could have easily inspected it without causing any damage, they didn’t and as a result Stephen was left with a smoldering pile of ashes.

But what was especially sorrowful about the whole incident was that the game was a gift from his late father.

Bringing Justice to the Table

Stephen decided to take a stand for the future Pokéfans of America and lodged a lawsuit against U.S. Customs for the destruction of his beloved game. He hopes to bring the people responsible to justice and to make sure no one has to go through what he did.

He has started a petition on Change.org asking the U.S. government to take responsibility for the careless destruction of his Pokémon Yellow game.
