Woah! Microsoft Makes Bank

Ah, Microsoft, one of the biggest tech companies in the world – and its latest quarterly report has just come in. Let’s take a look at the details …

Staggering Revenue

Microsoft has reported earnings of $52.7 billion for the second financial quarter of this year – that’s a lot of money! Not only that, but Microsoft continues to grow its revenue year-on-year, with nearly a 5% rise compared to the same period one year ago.

The Dark Side of Success

Unfortunately, success doesn’t always come without a price. Microsoft has recently announced its intention to layoff 10,000 workers, mostly in its sales operations department – that’s a lot of people to have to find new employment.

It’s a shame, but Microsoft will no doubt brush itself off and continue its unstoppable march to the top.

Aside from the massive revenues, Microsoft has been making some other non-financial waves throughout the tech industry. Check it out:

• Brilliant New Products: Microsoft unveiled its new Surface lineup, including the Surface Pro X, Surface Neo and Surface Duos – some revolutionary products that are signalling the future of mobile computing.

So all in all, it’s been quite a successful quarter for Microsoft! It’s just a shame about all those layoffs.
