It looks like we’re about to see a Lara Croft resurgence, as Amazon is reportedly creating a TV series based on the iconic Tomb Raider video game. She’s one of the most iconic female characters in gaming history and this could be an opportunity for her to shine even brighter.

Say Hello to Super Sleuth Lara Croft

If the rumours are true, we’ll be saying hello to the one and only Lara Croft once more. For those not familiar with the character, this gun-toting, globe-trotting super sleuth has had numerous incarnations since her 1996 debut, and has been played by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander in movie adaptations.

Not to mention all the gaming spin-offs, with Lara donning a different outfit being brought to life in countless ways. Now she’s taking another gigantic leap with a TV show, allowing fans to explore Ms Croft’s world from the comfort of their own living room.

A Complex Plotline Is Expected

If the project does come to fruition, an experienced showrunner will be at the helm – Seamus Kevin Fahey, who’s credits include the likes of “Battlestar Galactica” and “Spartacus”.

No official plotline has been revealed yet, but the show is expected to be a globe-trotting adventure. There’s no word yet on when it’ll be eligible to stream on Amazon, but we can all get excited in the meantime knowing it’s in the works.
