Tablet Update: No “Pro” Version of Pixel? Say It Ain’t So!

Google recently revealed its plan to release a new Pixel tablet in 2020, but further details have been scant until now. Unfortunately, it looks like there won’t be a so-called “pro” version of the tablet. We can only imagine the agony of Pixel owners around the globe. To make matters worse, here’s what we do know about the tablet.

Let’s Talk Specs

Word on the street is that the Pixel tablet will feature:

  • 10.2″ display
  • wi-fi 6 support
  • 2 types of processors, including a 7th-generation Intel Core m3 & Intel Pentium Gold 4425Y
  • 4 GB RAM and 64GB of storage
  • microSD card slot
  • 2MP front and 8MP rear cameras
  • 2 x USB-C ports
  • Stereo speakers

So, while the tablet is shaping up to be pretty decent, some of us may have been hoping for a beefier “pro” version. Alas, it ain’t happening.

If it’s any consolation, there are a few features that appear to be pretty nice. To start, the return of the beloved headphone jack! Not to mention the improved display and speakers, which should make for a more enjoyable entertainment experience.

Plus, the official price tag of $399 USD is nothing to scoff at. With the current market being so competitive, it’s nice to know there won’t be a need to break open that piggy bank just to get your hands on this device.

Conclusion

Ultimately, Google’s Pixel tablet looks like it could be a winner. At least in the short term. Sure, no “pro” version is a bit of a downer, but sometimes you just have to make due with the tech you have!
