PlayStation Plus numbers are recovering, according to Sony
Say What?! PlayStation Plus Numbers Are Back Up?!
Pardon me while I pick my jaw up off the floor, but it’s true: PlayStation Plus numbers are on the rise, according to Sony! Who’d have thought it possible?

The Nitty Gritty
Sony is reporting that, as of the last quarter, they had:
- 3.3 million more PlayStation Plus subscribers than the previous quarter
- 50 million active subscribers in Europe and the Americas
- A 438% YOY increase in hardware sales, when compared to the same quarter last year
How are they doing it? Some theory crafting:
- The amazing lineup of PS Plus titles has something for everyone—so if you haven’t been playing, why don’t you give it a try?
- PS Plus prices are some of the lowest in the industry, and the fact that you get new games for free every month makes it an even sweeter deal than ever before.
- Sony has added a lot of new features and content to the PS Plus service, making it even more attractive to gamers.
The Sony Comeback Story
Just a few months ago, Sony was in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. They were being criticized for a lack of PlayStation 5 availability and sluggish online store performance. But now, with good news regarding PlayStation Plus numbers, it looks like Sony is back on the right track.
So, it looks like Sony really are doing something right with their gaming division—it’s never too late to turn things around. Go, Sony!
