Bowers & Wilkins Pi7 S2 review: Awesome sound, average ANC
B&W Pi7 S2: A Delightful Delight For Your Delightful Ears
Let’s be honest here. We all have a bit of gluttony for good sound quality. It is only natural that we would look into Bowers & Wilkins Pi7 S2 when its audio quality headlines kept popping up around the techsphere.
But does the Pi7 S2 live up the hype? Yes indeed.
Reading Between the Beats
The Pi7 S2 is a delight for your ears. From the 31mm dynamic driver, you will practically be cuddling up your music in sheer comfort and warmth. Whether we’re talking about jazz, hiphop or heavy metal, the Pi7 S2 is an absolute beast in its audio reproduction performance.
The highs are well-defined and the bass is controlled and balanced. I’d say it can totally get party vibes going but don’t worry if you’re looking for something a little more relaxed, the lullaby will still be here when you go to sleep.
But Is It Really Active Noise Canceling?
Unfortunately, the answer is not what we were hoping for. The active noise-canceling (ANC) feature is a tad weaker than we would like it to be. It does not do a bad job by any means, but let’s just say it will not drown out the subway ride home from work.
Still, let’s give Pi7 S2 some credit for being able to block out most of the background noise. The True Comfort earcups provide great passive noise isolation too, so you can still be able to drown out your competition :p
To conclude, despite the average ANC, Bowers & Wilkins Pi7 S2’s sound performance alone is enough to impress. All of these features put together make the Pi7 S2 a truly great product worthy of its price.
Time to put on some killer tunes and really enjoy!
- Excellent audio quality
